Competitive Position

Corning's core competitive advantage is deep, hard-to-replicate materials science and manufacturing process know-how built over more than 170 years, protected by a large patent portfolio and by capital-intensive, highly specialized manufacturing lines that competitors cannot easily stand up. This has let Corning win durable, multi-year strategic supply agreements with some of the largest technology and telecom companies in the world (Apple has made direct capital investments in Corning's manufacturing capacity, most recently underscoring the strategic importance of Gorilla Glass supply; Nvidia's 2026 investment in Corning's U.S. optical fiber capacity reflects a similar dynamic for AI networking).
